Special thanks to Pammela Springfield for this little piece of history!
I'm now the owner of this amazing little box...a "guest pac" ...a piece of history from the 1940's-50's. Apparently these were the common amenities for travelers staying at hotels (just as we get the miniature soaps, shampoos, and conditioners today). I'm wondering if this box might have been designed for the male traveler because of the hair tonic. There must have been something similar for ladies. As you can see, this box (from The Brunswick Hotel, Idaho) has been virtually untouched...nothing opened and used. Included in this kit: 1. Kleenex Eyeglass Tissues 2. Pepsodent toothpaste 3. Vaseline Hair Tonic 4.Ambrosia Facial Cleanser 5. Bromo-seltzer 6. Tums 7. Sayman Vegetable Wonder Soap 8. Deodorant I've been looking online to see if there are other photos of similar kits and found this: Special thanks to Pammela Springfield for this little piece of history!

What an amazing find, and that it is in such pristine condition. It reminds me of the quality of service that once existed in the U.S. for travel and still exists on Asian airlines. I love flying the SFO to Tokyo route where the flight attendants' every gesture is like poetry.

Guest Pac Corp. was my father's business. He started it in 1951 and retired, in 1969 when it was acquired by National student Marketing. NSM went belly up a couple of years later.

I have found a guest pac from 5 California hotels that was apparently made for kids. It includes a wood burning tool and 5 pre-printed wood plates. It's great to see other pacs!
