If you live in the Portland area, you might want to check out the window display at PDX Contemporary Art (925 NW Flanders). Bill Dean, assemblage artist, has the entire window for several of his "vintage" (and whimsical) assemblage pieces. I think they will be on display for the entire month of November. I took a few photos while visiting the window this afternoon...not the best photos, unfortunately, with all the reflection from the glass: Bill and I were in a group show two years ago at the Annie Meyer Art Gallery, and will be meeting once again for a "two man assemblage show" next October at Gallery 6 PDX...more on that later!

Yes, folks, more shameless self promotion! I am shipping another box of assemblage and collage work to my gallery in New York City in the next day or two. It should be available sometime next week. If you live in the area, stop in and see Seth and Kristin at the Cog and Pearl Gallery, 190 5th Av., Brooklyn, NY 11217. I've been able to visit their gallery twice, and am always quite impressed with the collections of work that they offer for sale from both local artists and others from around the country.
This collage and assemblage work will soon be at their gallery: |
