The latest find...hundreds of old x-rays (from the 80's). I brought them home with me a couple days ago, again wondering how I might use these in some of my own work.
I've hung up a few of them in my studio. I'm more inspired to use these findings if they are "out and visible" rather than hidden away.
Trying to keep everything visible in my studio (those things that I find at the dump) is difficult at best. As you can see, one of my "work" tables is no longer designed for "work." It is a "collection" table, badly in need of reorganization (which I'm going to tackle today). As a mixed media/assemblage artist, these are, indeed, treasures!
I haul back to my studio quite a bit of scrap wood and glass from the Transfer Station for framing and building my boxes. This area also needs some attention:
One of a few plastic tubs that is overflowing with "stuff" that I've recently gleaned. It's also on my agenda for today.
I'm about to complete a new piece...everything coming from the dump, including the box, the old comic books, vintage photo, jewel buttons, glass, wire, rusted metal, etc.
