I wanted to include more photos of some of those miscellaneous kinds of things that I've found at the dump lately...no real story behind any of them, except for the Columbia jacket.
Lots (and lots!) of clothing seems to make its way to the city dump every day. Old clothing can be found at every turn. New clothing is another story! I just happened to find this beautiful Columbia Sportswear jacket bundled in a bag with some other stuff while gleaning with Jen the other day. It was new...it was clean...it fit me perfectly! It came home with me! I felt like I'd just had a free shopping trip to Nordstroms (without the fancy piano music playing in the background)! The only other piece of clothing that I kept for myself in all my weeks of gleaning at the dump was a nice Nike tshirt, as well as the dozens of new tshirts that I found and donated to the Cracked Pots recycled art fair back in July (blog #63).
