Back in the days when people started to make their very first home movies, some of them also used these "title kits." I found this kit at the dump...it looks to be in perfect shape, quite possibly never used.
I've got a few ideas for using this kit, but won't get to it anytime soon.
I also found another beautiful frame in the middle of all that trash...one of many that I've been grabbing these last many weeks. I generally pull out the glass (if there is any) to reuse in my own projects, and throw the photo/painting away that's still inside the frame.
I have a nice assortment of smaller frames that I haven't used yet...
I also have a few of the larger frames...
I'm going to use these (both the small and large frames) in such a way as to create a "framed background" for several of my already-finished boxes when I hang them next week at the gallery...in this manner:
I've also brought home some old window frames (minus the glass). I've sanded them, dyed them with my alcohol dye, and will use them in the same way...as background framing for finished work. This window frame works well for my three "piano key" boxes that I finished several weeks ago.
