After the purchase of my new (reconditioned) power tool...Sonicrafter (check it out in my youtube video)...I've been cutting "holes" in some of my old books.  Even though this is not a "new" idea, I'm always looking for ways to broaden my approach to assemblage work.   I've experimented with a few books in the past, using a case cutter (with multiple changes of razor blades), but nothing beats the power and ease of this tool for slicing through the covers and pages of a book.  It's pretty easy to finish off the hole inside the book...either with a bit of sanding and spray paint, or actually constructing a lining with wood or papers.  I've got some small, old frames that finish the project, after I've done my assemblage work inside the space.

I have become a big fan of your work! I went to my local scrap exchange where they sell industry, medical, and business scrap. I found some frame pieces that you would love - also found bottle, tubes, cool medical things for assbloges. I'm on the border about getting on of those saws. Keep going with your work!!! Lori
